We seek to provide a home environment in our Hippo Rooms, where individual routines are incorporated into the daily routine of the room. This is to enable babies to feel safe so that they can focus on learning and reaching new milestones.
The indoor and outdoor environments allow children to freely and safely move about and access learning resources. The program is designed to encourage children in developing self-help skills in areas such as feeding, washing of hands, caring for plants and resources. There are also regular incursions from Happy Feet Fitness where an educator delivers educational content, creative movement and social development skills to children. Our gardens provide green spaces to support children’s development in balancing, walking, climbing, running as well as in socialising with other children.
Even at this young age, children are natural learners and are curious about the world they live in. By incorporating natural materials in our program and educational resources, we enable children to develop their knowledge and understanding of their environments, make meaning of relationships and begin to care for the world they live in.
